Lassi is great. It is refreshing, rich in fruits and protein, delicious, yet quick and easy to make.

  • 2/31 unsweetened whole-fat yogurt2
  • 1/3 fruits3
  • 1.5 teaspoons white sugar (to taste)
  • Put the ingredients in a blender4
  • Blend until the fruits are incorporated5
  • Serve still cold, in a glass with a straw.

This is my notes on Vineet Bhatia’s recipe. Take a look at his video for more elaborate twists on the core idea.

  1. Yes, we are measuring in fractions of your glass. ↩︎

  2. Yogurt being the main ingredient, you want a good fat one. Greek yogurt is ideal. You can also use a coconut yogurt for a vegan alternative. ↩︎

  3. Mango is a classic (whether fresh or frozen/canned pulp), but you can use pretty much anything: cantaloupe, blueberries, strawberries, etc. I do like to use some frozen fruits to get a chilly end result without having to dilute it by adding ice to the blender. ↩︎

  4. The recipe is nice in that a quick rinse is enough to clean all of the material used. ↩︎

  5. The end result gets more liquid as you blend it. Since I like my lassi thick, I blend it as little as I can, but you might want to blend it thoroughly (you can also add whole-fat milk if you want it even more liquid). ↩︎
